We would rather tell you what a house needs than what sells

Most exterior paint jobs that fail did not fail because of the paint. They failed because something underneath was coated over: a wall still chalking from years of high-altitude sun, a stucco crack that was a water path rather than cosmetic, boards gone soft at the bottom edge, caulk that had already split at the trim. Paint covers all four for about a season.

That is why the drywall, stucco, siding and trim repairs are ours too, rather than referred out. If what your house actually needs is six replacement boards on the west elevation before anything is coated, we would rather say so at the estimate than find it for you in two years.

Twenty-five years, from the tools to the paint counter

Josh started in this industry as a painter. He then went to work for Sherwin-Williams and moved up the ladder to sales representative and store manager, at one point opening a brand new store and building it up from nothing. Along the way he worked with contractors across Colorado Springs — first as a painter, later as a sales rep and estimator.

That is an unusual path, and it is the reason the conversation on your driveway is a technical one. Which product class belongs on which surface, why the south wall warrants something the north wall does not, what the crack in your stucco is actually telling you — that is not sales patter here, it is what he did for a living before he was quoting the work.

The part that happens after the last coat

Josh follows up frequently while a project is running, to make sure it is going the way you expected rather than the way it drifted. Then he follows up again after it is finished — to check the finish is holding, that nothing has failed, and that you would have us back. Plenty of contractors disappear at the invoice. That is the habit this business is actually built on.

Today Josh does the sales, the estimating and the project management himself, across residential, commercial and multifamily work — including a multifamily contract worth $145,000 that ran across two years. One person, from the first phone call to the follow-up after the job is done.
